Project Overview
Islamic Mart is a WordPress-based multivendor e-commerce marketplace designed to bring Islamic products and Muslim daily essentials together within one centralized shopping experience.
The platform allows multiple vendors to register, manage their stores, list products, and sell to customers, while shoppers can discover products from different vendors through a unified marketplace.
Project Type: Multivendor E-Commerce Marketplace
Platform: WordPress
Target Audience: Muslim consumers and Islamic product vendors
Primary Goal: Create a centralized marketplace for Islamic products and everyday Muslim essentials
The Challenge
Muslim customers often need to search across different websites, social media stores, and physical shops to find products that meet their needs.
At the same time, smaller vendors may not have the resources to build and maintain independent e-commerce websites.
The project therefore needed to address two key challenges:
- Create one centralized marketplace for Muslim-focused products
- Provide vendors with an accessible way to establish and manage online stores
The platform also needed a scalable structure capable of supporting multiple vendors, categories, products, and customer journeys.
The Solution
We designed Islamic Mart, a centralized WordPress multivendor marketplace connecting customers with multiple Islamic product vendors.
The platform combines diverse product categories within one shopping experience while providing vendors with dedicated tools to manage their stores.
Core Modules
- Multi-vendor registration and onboarding
- Individual vendor storefronts
- Product listing and management
- Category-based product discovery
- Customer accounts
- Shopping cart and checkout
- Order management
- Vendor dashboards
- Responsive e-commerce experience
The solution creates value for both sides of the marketplace.
For Customers: A single platform to discover Muslim-focused products.
For Vendors: A ready-made marketplace environment to establish and manage an online store.
Information Architecture
The marketplace was organized around six primary product categories:
Men’s Fashion
Islamic and modest clothing products for men.
Women’s Fashion
Modest fashion and Islamic clothing for women.
Islamic Essentials
Products supporting everyday Islamic practices and routines.
Books
Islamic books and educational resources.
Fragrance
Fragrances and related products.
Homeware
Islamic and Muslim-focused home products.
The category structure was designed to make product discovery easier and reduce navigation complexity.
UX/UI Design Process
01 — Requirements & User Journeys
We identified the core requirements of both customer and vendor experiences before designing the interface.
Customer Journey
Browse Categories → Discover Products → View Details → Add to Cart → Checkout
Vendor Journey
Register → Create Storefront → Add Products → Manage Orders → Manage Store
These journeys formed the foundation of the platform’s information architecture.
Low-fidelity wireframes were created to establish the structure and validate key user journeys before moving into visual design.
Key screens included:
- Homepage
- Category navigation
- Product listing pages
- Product detail pages
- Vendor storefronts
- Cart and checkout
- Vendor dashboard
- Customer account
03 — High-Fidelity UI Design
After validating the wireframes, the core screens were developed into high-fidelity UI designs.
The visual direction focused on creating a modern e-commerce experience while maintaining a subtle Islamic identity.
Design Priorities
- Clean visual hierarchy
- Product-focused layouts
- Intuitive navigation
- Clear category separation
- Consistent UI components
- Responsive layouts
- Simple shopping journey
